We are a small, specialist cycling holiday centre in the Spectacular Vercors, French Alps with a passion for cycling; catering for all levels of cyclists from seasoned athletes looking for a unique Alpine challenge, to families wanting an active holiday to enthusiastic converts seeking a more leisurely touring holiday.

The VercorsWe offer everything and more you would expect from a specialist cycling base; accompanied or independent rides, route maps, bike hire, comfortable self-catering gites, home cooked meals accompanied by superb, local Cotes de Rhone wines and a hands on, personal knowledge of the region.

Our range of holidays include; The Tour de France and an opportunity to experience the fantastic atmosphere and colours of the Tour and climb the famous 'Le Col de La Croix de Fer' in the High Alps; Family Holidays to suit all ages; An opportunity to get up close and personal with the Pro Riders at Le Criterium Dauphine; A week of rides with a total ascent of 9000m, equivalent to climbing Mount Everest in our Velo Vercors Challenge, or a week riding in the Vercors as wall as participating in a local sportive in our Cyclosportive Training week.

Map of FranceThe Vercors offers superb Alpine Training for The Etape and La Marmotte. We also support 4 well organised local Sportives offering competitive racing or a more leisurely personal challenge which are well organised on closed or marshalled roads and are supported by local villagers and town officials who go out of their way to make it a welcoming, festival atmosphere for all cyclists.

We are a perfect base if you want to climb the iconic Alp D'huez or make the pilgramage to Mont Ventoux and organised trips can be incorporated into your holiday.

New for 2012 we are also offering 2 self guided tours; Tour to Alp D'huez and a Tour of Provence and Mont Ventoux.

Located in charming village location in the Vercors National Park

We are located in the spectacular Vercors National Park offering cyclists’ a fantastic variety of routes to choose from directly from our base; friendly Alpine climbs (1600m), rolling hills or the flatter Isere Valley. Daily routes vary from 10km to 170km with a choice of 22 cols, including many which have featured in the Tour de France. What makes the Vercors so special is the friendliness of the climbs as well as a vast matrix of quiet routes, cliff hanging roads and awe inspiring views to satisfy everyone for any length of stay.

dunnes on combe lavel 2011Based in self-catering Gites (rural cottages) or our newly converted B&B accommodation,|our peaceful location in the charming town of St.Jean-en-Royans in the heart of at the Vercors National Park is a 5 min walk to a choice of restaurants ranging from gourmet to takeaway, cafes, an extensive range of shops and a superb outdoor swimming pool.

We live full time in France and have an extensive knowledge of the region and surrounding areas being fully acquainted with all the best cafe stops, quiet roads, photo opportunities and places of interest. We appreciate that most of our guests are coming from very busy lives and want a memorable, hassle free holiday in a relaxed setting so we aim to give each  guest a warm welcome and our personal service.

Hands on Personal Top Level Cycling Experience and Advice

cafe shot st jeanA Top International cyclist for 12 years, having ridden in teams producing Tour de France winners and representing GB in the Peace Race in 1988, Roger finished his last 2 years as a racing cyclist in this region and is available to accompany rides, pass on his extensive knowledge of the region as well as offering his personal training and nutritional advice. For the last 2 years of his career he was signed to a team in near-by Romans-sur-Isere who produced Tour de France yellow jersey holder, local boy and friend of Velo Vercors, Charley Mottet.

We can accommodate large groups of people giving you the opportunity to come as a couple, family, club or group of friends. 2011 we have welcomed cyclists from the UK, America, Australia, Ireland and Canada as well as World Champion, Beth Heiden and National Champion and nephew, Conor Dunne.

We are an easy destination to get to by train, plane or car for a week or a weekend.  For non-cyclists or those who also want a different experience there is a huge variety of other activities and sightseeing interests.
