The Vercors is not only one of the most spectacular cycling regions but is also a great base for reaching the High Alps and in 2011 we are offering a day trip to climb one of the most iconic mountains in France - Alp D'huez.
We will transport you and bike to the town of Bourg D'Oisons. From here you will start your ride along the base of the valley for approx 10kms before the start of the climb.
Alp D'huez stands at 3300 metres. The climb is 13.8kms with 21 hairpin bends with an average slope gradient of 7.9% and a maximum gradient of 14%. The time to beat is Marco Pantani's 37.35 in 1997 with his average speed of 23.08km/h.
This trip is offered from April - October for a minimum of 4 people with bikes.
