A Typical Self-Catering Week at Velo Vercors
Saturday arrival having been collected by taxi or made your own way to us by car or bike.
We make sure you are settled into your gite and give you an information pack of cycling routes and local and regional information.
If you have hired bikes from us we get you set up on them.
Drinks on the terrace followed by a 3 course home cooked evening meal and wine giving you a chance to meet ourselves and other guests in a social setting.
During dinner we’ll discuss the kind of cycling holiday you want, any particular goals you have, the distances you want to cycle so we can suggest a cycling itininery for your stay
Sunday We'll make sure you are all set for your first ride in the Vercors and surrounding region. The route could range from 10km-170kms + depending on your level of fitness and experience.
For families or novices we always ‘ease’ you into cycling holiday and will suggest a route along quiet, secondary roads with cafe and lunch stops and a destination of interest to children and adults alike. For a Typical Family weekly Itinenary click here.
For the more experienced rider wanting more of a challenge we will suggest a route heading into the Vercors to get you straight into experiencing Alpine climbing and the spectacular views on offer.
Monday through to Friday. Each day we will chat to you about how your ride went and suggest a ride for the following day based on how you feel and what kind of ride you want.

For the rider who wants bigger mileage and more of a challenge we will suggest daily rides ranging from 25-170kms along the quietest, most spectacular roads; taking in some of Europe's stunning gorges and mountain climbs, charming villages with lots of cafe stops. The Vercors and surrounding region gives us the opportunity to plan a weekly itinenary that will be along varied and exciting terrain with daily ascents varying from 500m to 1500m + without ever being very far from our base.
Saturday departure. If required we will organise a taxi transfer to Valence TGV station or Grenoble or Lyon Airports.
